Next door to Prospect and overlooking Jones Bay, Savannah and adjacent Bodden Town is an area rich in cultural history. Savannah, along with Lower Valley and Newlands, is a north-facing area with both inland and canal-front properties popular with families looking for value and atmosphere in homes with gardens and mature trees.
Bodden Town is the south-facing beachside former capital of the Cayman Islands, retaining a level of charm and a Caribbean village atmosphere that also has the added benefit of low to mid-range property prices popular with expats and locals alike. A sometimes lengthy commute during the morning and evening rush hour can be a turn-off for some, but for those fortunate enough to be able to pick and choose their driving times the off-peak 25-minute drive to George Town is more than acceptable in return for the affordability and laid-back atmosphere of a more rustic living space.
While property prices in Bodden Town have been creeping up in recent years the area is still known for offering more bang for the buck, with a side order of peace and quiet. The area has seen continued renovation and development of beachfront properties and single family homes inland. Access to the attractions and dive sites of the East End is just a short drive away.
